Spectrum Plastics acquires medical balloon company — 4 insights

Spectrum Plastics Group acquired Wexford, Ireland-based medical balloon solutions company, Earnan Biomedicals.

Four insights:

1. The deal is part of Spectrum’s plan to develop its presence in the international medical device market.

2. Earnan develops custom balloon designs with materials such as nylon, polyurethane and polyester, which have multiple uses for wound care, neurovascular and orthopedic solutions among others.

3. This is Spectrum’s first acquisition after its Fermatex Vascular Technologies takeover in May 2018.

4. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
