The tax is expected to add $28 billion over the next year to help pay for federal reform. Sens. Klobuchar and Franken support the view that the tax is a job killer that would hurt innovation and thousands of high-paying jobs that device companies support in Minnesota.
Sen. Klobuchar co-authored a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid urging the governing body to delay the start of the tax to give lawmakers the opportunity to repeal or reduce it.
