Saint Anne’s Hospital Touts MAKOplasty Technology

Saint Anne’s Hospital, a Caritas Health Care facility located in Fall River, Mass., is the only healthcare provider in Massachusetts to provide the MAKOplasty technology for partial joint resurfacing, according to a hospital news release.

MAKOplasty, designed and manufactured by MAKO Surgical, and used with patients who have early to midstage osteoarthritis in the medial, patellofemoral or lateral compartments of the knee. It is powered by the RIO Robotic Arm Interactive Orthopedic System, which allows for precision in performing partial knee resurfacing.

MAKOplasty is currently offered at 29 hospitals in the U.S. To promote awareness of the technology, the hospital is hosting an educational session.
