The PowerFoot BiOM is the first bionic lower-leg system designed to restore function in the foot and ankle. The system doesn’t rely on muscles above the knee to restore function. Actuators within the prosthesis help propel the patient instead.

The motors in the prosthesis can carry a person up to 260 pounds. Only five PowerFoot BiOMs currently exist.
