Under CMS’ Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule for fiscal year 2025, spinal fusions with aprevo will be covered, and the rule will go into effect Oct. 1, according to a news release.

In 2021, aprevo earned the New Technology Add-On Payment by CMS and the transitional pass-through payment.

Aprevo implants are custom-made anatomically designed implants. Carlsbad previously shared data that found the devices enabled improvement in post-operative alignment.
