Orthopedic Device Company Nomcomed Plans $2.78M Expansion to Indiana Facility

Nomcomed, a Fort Wayne, Ind.-based orthopedic instrumentation and device maker, is planning a $2.78 million expansion that will create 60 full-time jobs, according to a report from The News-Sentinel.

The company is planning on adding a 13,000-square-foot addition onto its 34,000-square-foot facility. The company will also purchase new manufacturing and computer equipment, and create additional jobs with a combined payroll of $2.9 million.

Currently, a 10-year tax abatement will allow the company to reduce taxes payable on the new building and equipment. The company also receives $1.6 million in state tax credits and more than $100,000 in training grants as incentives to maintain the Fort Wayne location.
