OrthoPediatrics earns breakthrough designation for new scoliosis rod system

OrthoPediatrics earned the FDA’s breakthrough designation for the eLLi growing rod system for scoliosis, the devicemaker said May 2.

The implant is designed for severe pathology associated with early onset scoliosis, according to a news release. 

With breakthrough designation, the device’s development, assessment and review will be expedited.
