Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy is the first practice in the world to use EOS Insight, an artificial intelligence-powered spine system from Alphatec.

David Schwartz, MD, and M. Craig McMains, MD, performed the first spine cases using EOS Insight at OrthoIndy Hospital, according to an April 7 news release. EOS uses AI to develop personalized surgical plans and improve precision.

“I was able to compare my progress to the pre-operative plan throughout the surgery and then perform a final reconciliation prior to its completion,” Dr. Schwartz said in the release. “EOS Insight is truly the most comprehensive spine innovation I’ve witnessed in my 35-year clinical tenure.”

OrthoIndy has debuted EOS technology in the past, being the first in the state to offer Alphatec’s EOSedge imaging system.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
