Orthofix sees slight dip in Q2 revenue: 4 notes

Orthofix’s second-quarter revenue fell compared to the same time last year across most of its business segments, according to results posted Aug. 5.

Four things to know:

1. The company’s net sales were $118.1 million, down 2.7 percent from the same period last year.

2. Spinal implant sales fell 6.2 percent to $28.2 million, and biologic sales fell less than 1 percent, to  $14.8 million.

3. All areas of Orthofix’s business except global orthopedics saw year-over-year decreases in revenue. Global orthopedics saw a 2 percent increase in revenue year over year..

4. The company saw gross profits of $86.5 million, down 8 percent year over year.
