OrthoCarolina Physicians Now Treat Dupuytren’s Contracture With Xiaflex

Physicians at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C, are treating Dupuytren’s contracture patients with Xiaflex, a new injection for treating the patients, according to a South Charlotte Weekly report.

The injection is offered as an alternative to surgery. Xiaflex causes tightening of the palpable cords and pulls fingers into the palm. Physicians straighten the fingers the next day after administering a local anesthetic.
