Dayton, Ohio-based NovoSource is a startup orthopedic device firm looking to cut costs from the process of developing and selling orthopedic implants, according to Med City News.

NovoSource’s implants use proven technology that has produced clinical trial results. However, it outsources the manufacturing and sells directly to hospitals and surgeons

The company’s first product, a total knee replacement, should be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2013, pending FDA approval. A hip implant will follow.

NovoSource was founded by Harold Linville, former chief business development officer at Leis Medical Manufacturing; Jon May, president at Latex International; and Bradley Harris, former CEO at Upex Holdings.
