NeoStem Reports 26% Revenue Increase

NeoStem has reported second quarter revenues of $19.4 million, a 26 percent increase from the second quarter 2009 and a 23 percent increase from the first quarter of 2010, according to a company news release.

The company attributes its success to a collaboration with the Vatican Pontifical Council for Culture to expand and raise awareness of the adult stem cell research, a $700,000 contract with the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command regarding the VSEL technology and research sponsored with Harvard Medical School affiliate Schepens Eye Research Institute.

The company reported cash and cash equivalents of approximately $11 million at the end of the second quarter.
