MRI Interventions hits landmark 3,000th procedure with navigation device — 4 things to know

MRI Interventions’ ClearPoint neuro navigation system completed its 3000th neurosurgical procedure.

Four things to know:

1. ClearPoint enables physicians to operate while simultaneously using MRI guidance. The procedure takes place in an MRI suite, eliminating the need for patients to move from the MRI scanner to the OR.

2. The 3,000th and 3,001st procedures were performed at the University of California San Francisco.

3. Fifty-five surgical centers in the U.S. installed ClearPoint to date.

4. UCSF is one of 10 centers performing two cases per day using the same MRI scanner.
