Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey covers about 3.6 million people, partially due to new studies coming out that show AxiaLIF’s safety and efficacy. Earlier this year, Humana also decided to reimburse for the procedure. Surgeons who conducted the studies plan to write papers on the results and submit them to peer-review publications, which could encourage additional payors to cover the procedure.
