Montana board grants Bacterin $100k: 5 things to know

The Montana Board of Research and Commercialization Technology awarded Xtant Medical subsidiary Bacterin $100,000 for new product development and commercialization.

Here are five key notes:

 

1. The grant will support development and commercialization for Bacterin’s next generation of demineralized bone matrix allografts.

 

2. The new products will be designed to produce faster and more complete bone healing compared to currently available therapies. The goal is improved clinical outcomes.

 

3. Mark Schallenberger, MS, is the principal investigator for the project with four others as contributing investigators. The award will finalize product development and fund the pre-clinical studies to support technology commercialization.

 

4. The Montana Board of Research and Commercialization Technology has given Bacterin two previous grants. Including the most recent grant, the organization has given $458,458 in total financial support.

 

5. Xtant Medical is focused on regenerative medicine for orthopedic and neurological surgeons.
