Misonix president, CEO to retire — 5 things to know

Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Misonix’s president and CEO will retire on Sept. 2.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Michael A. McManus, Jr., will step down from his positions as director and chairman of the board of directors as well as president and CEO.

 

2. Stavros G. Vizirgianakis, a member of Misonix’s board of directors, will fill Mr. McManus’ place as the interim CEO.

 

3. Misonix is currently pursuing options with Mr. Vizirgianakis to fill the full-time position of CEO.

 

4. Mr. Vizirgianakis has served on the board since May 2013 and has a 5.7 percent ownership state in the company.

 

5. Misonix develops ultrasonic products for spine surgery, neurosurgery, wound debridement, skull base surgery and laparoscopic surgery, among other applications.
