On the heels of strong sales in fiscal year 2026, Medtronic is placing high expectations on its new robotic system, leaders said in a June 3 earnings call.

Rollout of Medtronic’s Stealth AXiS robot is going well with positive physician feedback and strong sales, CFO Thierry Pieton said. The system has FDA clearance for spine, cranial and ENT, and is expected to be more prominent for company success.

“Stealth is a force multiplier, driving pull-through across planning, robotics and our broader AiBLE ecosystem,” Mr. Pieton said, as transcribed by Motley Fool. “It promotes the adoption of robotics in spine surgery, creates efficiencies that allow more physicians to integrate it without disrupting workflow. All of this makes our installed base stickier over time. With robotics penetration still in the high single digits, we see significant runway ahead.”

Spine surgeons began using StealthAXiS in April. Since, the robot has been debuted in Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, California and Florida.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
