1. EPIX Therapuetics designs and manufactures a catheter-based, temperature-controlled cardiac ablation system for patients with irregular heartbeats and atrial fibrillation.
2. When completed, the acquisition will expand Medtronic’s cardiac ablation portfolio to offer physicians a comprehensive suite of tools to treat patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
3. The acquisition is expected to close in Medtronic’s fourth quarter, which runs Jan. 26 to April 26.
