Four things to know:
1. As an independent director, Mr. Lofton will serve on the board’s audit, compensation and quality committees.
2. Mr. Lofton’s experience includes serving as CEO of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives from 2003 to 2019, when the system merged with San Francisco-based DignityHealth to form CommonSpirit, which is headquartered in Chicago.
3. Mr. Lofton was the founding chair of the American Hospital Association’s Equity of Care Initiative, as well as a founding board member of the Institute for Diversity.
4. Mr. Lofton is currently lead independent director of Gilead Sciences and sits on the boards of Rite Aid Corp. and the Georgia State University Foundation.
