Medtronic Spinal employees rack-up 4.8k charitable hours — 5 things to know

Medtronic Spinal, based in Memphis, Tenn., volunteered at Mid-South nonprofit organizations last year, racking up several charitable hours, according to a Memphis Daily report.

Here are five things to know about the volunteering:

 

1. There were 1,089 Medtronic Spinal employee volunteers who contributed 4,800 charitable hours.

 

2. Medtronic has a Mission in Motion program, which supports employee efforts to participate in community activities during workday hours.

 

3. The volunteer efforts included Project 6 and a Day of Caring. There was also Three Weeks of Giving service campaigns during the holidays.

 

4. Last year, Medtronic donated $10,000 to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital spinal division and $30,000 to Christ Community Health Services to support scoliosis awareness.

 

5. Charitable hours from Medtronic employees increased 14 percent over 2013.
