Medtronic receives recognition for social responsibility: 5 takeaways

1. The Dow Jones Sustainability North American Index analyzes companies on economic performance, environmental stewardship, social responsibility and corporate governance.

 

2. Recently, Medtronic partnered with the Lumen Foundation and the International Telemedicine System to form the Latin American Telemedicine Infarct Network.

 

3. The Latin American Telemedicine Infarct Network allows patients to receive electrocardiograms at local primary care centers which are then read by specialists hundreds of miles away to diagnose and confirm severe heart attacks.

 

4. Medtronic was also recognized by the FTSE4Good Index and listed on Corporate Responsibility Magazine’s 100 Best Corporate Citizens list.

 

5. Medtronic CEO and Chairman Omar Ishrak said, “Medtronic’s inclusion in the DJSI is a recognition of our employees’ efforts to improve clinical outcomes, expand access to care and optimize efficiency within healthcare systems around the world.”
