Medtronic Eliminates Two Executive Positions as Part of Restructuring

Medtronic has eliminated two executive posts, one in cardiovascular business and one in spinal and biologics, as part of changes stemming from the company’s decision to consolidate its business structure, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

Scott Ward, senior vice president and head of the cardiovascular business unit, and
Steve La Neve, senior vice president and head of the spinal and biologics unit, will leave their positions after an unspecified transition period, according to the report. Mr. Ward will leave Medtronic, while Mr. La Neve’s next move was not known.

Medtronic announced its fourth quarter results last week, which included poor performance in the spinal unit.
