Medtronic appoints chief scientific, medical and regulatory officer

Medtronic promoted Laura Mauri, MD, to serve as chief scientific, medical, and regulatory officer April 25.

Dr. Mauri joined Medtronic in 2018 and became part of the devicemaker’s executive committee in 2020. Her new responsibilities include leading the integration of medical expertise into Medtronic’s business process.

“With this appointment, we’re enabling a patient-centered approach to healthcare technology innovation at every stage of the product life cycle,” Medtronic CEO Geoff Martha said in a news release about Dr. Mauri’s appointment.

Before joining Medtronic, Dr. Mauri was an interventional cardiologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
