Here are five things to know about the technology:

1. The Bone Tether Plate includes three-dimensional-printing of medical grade titanium to fabricate devices with complex and/or customizable geometries.

2. The plate is the primary component in the FastForward Bunion Correction System for hallux valgus deformities correction. The system is designed to preserve and protect native bone anatomy.

3. The plate allows suture take to securely and safely wrap around the second metatarsal, eliminating the need to drill through bone.

4. The plate’s overall geometry closely matches the second metatarsal anatomy to optimally distribute bone. A looped portion allows suture tap to pass and securely hold the plate in place without needing bone screws.

5. The system will be showcased at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Annual Scientific Conference later this month in Phoenix.
