MAKO Surgical 2Q Revenue Reaches $18.6M, 81% Increase

MAKO Surgical reported second quarter revenue of $18.6 million, an 81 percent increase over the second quarter of 2010, according to a company news release.

The company sold 12 RIO systems this past quarter, 10 of which were sold to domestic sites. A total of 1,557 MAKOplasty procedures were performed during the quarter, representing a 96 percent increase over the second quarter of 2010.

The company recently received a patent for the “Haptic Guidance System and Method” and the company plans to launch the MAKOplasty hip application by the end of the year.
