Loma Linda University health clinic 1st in state to implant St. Jude Medical Invisible Trial System: 4 things to know

A Loma Linda (Calif.) University health clinic is the first in California to implant the new St. Jude Medical Invisible Trial System in patients, according to an Adventist News Network report.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. The system is fully wireless and leverages Bluetooth wireless technology and Apple digital devices.

 

2. It provides spinal cord stimulation therapy to relieve chronic pain.

 

3. Loma Linda University Medical Center has been offering SCS therapy for 15 years.

 

4. However, SCS device can feature complex controllers and bulky programming cables. The new St. Jude system aims to make it easier for patients to control and evaluate the therapy.
