Life Spine receives FDA clearance for new laminoplasty system — 3 things to know

The FDA recently granted 510(k) clearance for Life Spine’s Hinged laminoplasty system.

The laminoplasty procedure is an alternative to laminectomy.

Life Spine’s Hinged laminoplasty system was designed to allow for a custom fit for each patient and aims to decrease the need for surgeons to bend the plate intraoperatively.

The device features a screwdriver that threads on to the screw head for a secure and safe connection.
