LDR Holding partners with Poly-Shape for spinal implant manufacturing: 5 points

LDR Holding Corporation, based in Austin, Texas, made a minority investment in Poly-Shape, a French manufacturing company specializing in laser sintering.

Here are five points:

 

1. LDR will combine its experience in spinal implant design with Poly-Shape’s additive manufacturing methods.

 

2. Under the agreement, LDR will have a seat on the Poly-Shape board of directors.

 

3. With projects underway, the companies plan to launch a new product in mid-2017.

 

4. The agreement included additional investment by ALIAD, a venture capital affiliate of Air Liquide.

 

5. The two companies signed the agreement in the fourth quarter of 2015. Financial details were not disclosed.

 

“Poly-Shape has developed a reputation for its novel manufacturing techniques and for the production of parts that meet the rigorous quality and functional standards of its clients…” said Christophe Lavigne, president and CEO, LDR.
