Johnson & Johnson and two of its subsidiaries — Ethicon and Ethicon US — were accused of misrepresenting the effectiveness, properties, risks and safety history of their surgical mesh products in marketing and educational materials, which were given to patients and physicians. The companies denied the allegations.
