Here are five things to know:
1. In her new role, Ms. Merrifield will be the liaison between the chairman and non-management board of directors. She’ll also chair all executive sessions and work with the chairman on meeting agendas and time schedules for the board of directors.
2. Ms. Merrifield joined the board of directors in November 2014 and has been an invaluable member ever since, according to InVivo’s CEO and Chairman Mark Perrin.
3. Simultaneously with the new appointment, InVivo’s board approved splitting the governance, nominating and compensation committee into two committees: nominating and corporate governance as one committee and compensation as a second.
4. Ms. Merrifield will serve as the chairwoman of the nominating and corporate governance committee.
5. Kenneth DiPietro will be the chairman of the compensation committee.
