Invibio & Double Medical host workshop on PEEK-OPTIMA spinal cages — 6 points

United Kingdom-based Invibio Biomaterial Solutions and China-based Double Medical Technology hosted an interbody spine surgery workshop, at the 10th Annual Congress of the Chinese Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Here are six points:

 

1. The workshop, held on May 12 at Guangzhou-based Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University, focused on Double Medical’s Direct Lateral Interbody Fusion spinal cages composed of Invibio’s PEEK-OPTIMA.

 

2. The China Federal Drug Administration approved Invibio’s PEEK-OPTIMA polymer in 2004.

 

3. The CAOS workshop, “Principles and Techniques of Complex Spine Surgery Workshop,” was hosted in conjunction with the North American Spine Society.

 

4. More than 100 surgeons attended, taking part in the hands-on cadaver labs and viewing one-hour product demonstrations.

 

5. Double Medical works with more than 3,500 hospitals and 1,000 businesses in China. Additionally, the company’s products are exported to more than 40 countries and regions.

 

6. About 9 million medical devices worldwide incorporate the PEEK-OPTIMA polymer.
