Integra LifeSciences Buys SeaSpine for $89M

Plainsboro, N.J.-based medical device company Integra LifeSciences recently acquired spinal fusion device company SeaSpine for $89 million in cash, according to a company news release.

After combining SeaSpine’s portfolio with its existing spine business, the company’s spine and orthobiologics portfolio will be the largest component of its revenue category. SeaSpine develops and distributes a full range of spinal fixation products and includes hardware and biologics.

Former SeaSpine President Kirt Stephenson has joined Integra as president of U.S. Spine.
