Inspired by her own condition, Duke graduate founds neurological disorders company: 5 highlights

Driven by her diagnosis with a Chiari malformation, Ashlyn Sanders founded NeuroVice in 2016, according to The Chronicle.

1. NeuroVice’s mission is to develop devices that enhance the lives of those living with neurological disorders.

 

2. The company’s team is working to develop a prototype called P.A.T.I., which is an oral device designed to stop patients from biting their tongues or hyper-salivating during seizures.

 

3. The company is aiming to fundraise $20,000 to complete a final design of the prototype.

 

4. The company has raised about $2,000 at this time.

 

5. Ms. Sanders graduated from Durham, N.C.-based Duke University in 2015 with a master of arts in bioethics and science policy.
