The randomized study revealed significant clinical advantages of Kiva over balloon kyphoplasty. Kiva considerably restored vertebral body wedge deformity and showed noticeably lower rates of extravasation and cement volume than balloon kyphoplasty.

The Kiva VCF Treatment System, a flexible implant made of a biocompatible polymer, offers an alternative method for the treatment of VCFs.
