Davenport-based Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center is improving its joint replacement program through a series of steps, according to TheLedger.com.

1. The hospital is renovating a unit of 12 private patient rooms as well as a physical therapy facility.

 

2. Patients will undergo more education to ensure they are prepared for surgery, what to expect the day of surgery as well as their recovery following the procedure.

 

3. Currently, five surgeons perform joint replacements at the facility.

 

4. In October, Abhijit Manaswi, MD, will join the hospital to offer patients joint procedures.

 

5. This year, the hospital is slated to complete nearly 300 hip and knee replacements.
