Here’s what you need to know:
1. FMX314 is the first single-port surgery solution for minimally invasive abdominal laparoscopic surgery. With fewer port-site complications, Fortimedix Surgical says the device will lead to less postoperative pain and faster recovery for patients.
2. The device is compatible with standard 15-millimeter laparoscopic trocar.
3. FMX314 received 510(k) clearance from the FDA last August.
Fortimedix Surgical is slated for the United States launch of FMX314 during the American College of Surgeons’ annual congress later this month. The device’s European commercial launch is planned for 2017.
