Flowers Hospital in Alabama installs Stealth system: 4 points

Marcus Schmitz, MD, is utilizing the Stealth Navigation System when he performs spine and brain surgeries at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., according to dothaneagle.com.

1. A $1 million investment, the Stealth system offers real-time, three-dimensional imaging.

 

2. Dr. Schmitz has performed about 20 spine surgeries and 20 brain surgeries with the Stealth system at Flowers Hospital.

 

3. Before joining Flowers Hospital, Dr. Schmitz used the navigation system to perform thousands of surgeries, most of which were in Pensacola.

 

4. He praises the system, as it reduces blood loss and lends to shorter recoveries.
