First United Kingdom Patient Receives PyroTITAN Shoulder Implant

The first patient in the United Kingdom has received the Ascension Orthopedics PyroTITAN shoulder implant at the Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, Cheshire, according to an Ascension Orthopedics news release.

The PyroTITAN was implanted in the first Australian patient earlier this month. The implant offers a bone-sparing option for patients needing shoulder joint replacement and is available in 12 different sizes. The implant is designed to extend the longevity of the hemiarthroplasty joint replacement.
