Here are four things to know.

1. Prof. Harty serves as head of the Cork (Ireland) University Hospital orthopedics department.

2. OrthoXel is focused exclusively on improving patient outcomes through enhanced fixation to stimulate callus formation, with the goal of reducing healing time when OrthoXel intramedullary nails are implanted.

3. The Apex Tibial Nailing system is patent protected. It is the first technology OrthoXel will commercialize for treatment of tibial fractures.

4. The Apex system provides locking modes so the surgeon can customize the fixation to suit the patient’s needs, including standard cross-locking, true rigid fixation with multiple proximal screw clamping to generate a substantially rigid construct and dynamization locking with built-in torsional stability.
