OrthoPediatrics introduces upgraded elastic nailing platform PediFlex Advanced: 4 insights

Spinal Tech

OrthoPediatrics introduced its next generation elastic nailing platform PediFlex Advanced.

Here are four things to know.

1. This upgrade to the legacy system offers a modified flexible nail implant in multiple diameters and lengths, available in stainless steel and titanium.

2. The platform includes a new inserter design, designed for easy assembly and interchangeable collets for multiple nail sizes.

3. The system is intended for fixation of diaphyseal fractures of long bones where the medullary canal is narrow or implant flexibility is required, including upper extremity fractures in all patients and lower extremity fractures in pediatric or small stature patients. In pediatric patients, the nail's flexibility allows it to be inserted at a point that does not disrupt the growth plate.

4. PediFlex Advanced also features instruments for nail extraction.
