FH Ortho received FDA clearance for new base plates

The US Food and Drug Administration approved FH Ortho’s ARROW Reverse Shoulder “long keel” and “short keel” glenoid base plate for patients with severe shoulder arthropathy, a ‘grossly’ deficient rotator cuff or a previously failed shoulder joint replacement with a ‘grossly’ deficient rotator cuff.

The humeral stem is meant for cemented or cementless application and the metal-back glenoid baseplate is intended for cementless application with the addition of bone screws for fixation. It is also necessary for the patient to have a functional deltoid muscle and adequate glenoid bone stock.
