Five things to know:
1. Exactech purchased all shares of Exactech Italia, which imported and distributed Exactech’s orthopedic implants, instrumentation and advanced surgical technologies.
2. The two entities had an eight-year partnership, and Exactech plans to increase its investment in the new subsidiary to distribute more products in Italy over the next few years.
3. Exactech Italia currently distributes knee, hip and shoulder replacement systems as well as Exactech’s computer-assisted surgery system, ExactechGPS.
4. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
5. Exactech has operations in eight global markets and distribution in 35-plus countries after this acquisition.
