DSM Biomedical Continues Spinelab Partnership

Netherlands-based DSM Biomedical and Berkeley, Calif.-based DSM PTG announced an extension to its partnership with Spinelab, based in Zug, Switzerland, according to a news release.

Spinelab’s Elaspine Implant System is a pedicle-screw based posterior motion preservation system for the degenerative lumbar spine. Elaspine uses a proprietary DSM Biomedical polymer, Bionate PCU, to enhance stability and reduce the effects of peak loads and this is the first use of a PCU-only posterior rod, according to the release.

The new agreement will allow continued commercial and clinical success of Elaspine, according to the release.
