Dr. Juan Torres-Reveron performs 1st surgery in US using ROSA Spine: 5 highlights

Juan Torres-Reveron, MD, of Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, performed the nation’s first spine surgery using Montpellier, France-based Medtech’s ROSA Spine.

1. Dr. Torres-Reveron performed a spinal fusion using the robotic device.

 

2. Miami Valley acquired the first ROSA Spine in the United States.

 

3. The FDA cleared ROSA Spine in January 2016.

 

4. Medtech’s ROSA Brain received FDA approval in 2012.

 

5. Twenty-nine U.S. facilities use ROSA Brain.

 

“This technology allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures on the spine and increases the safety and reliability of the operations,” said Bertin Nahum, CEO and founder, Medtech.
