Donated device to help veterans walk: 5 highlights

The Veteran Association’s Eastern Colorado Health Care System now has an exoskeleton device, according to 9News.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Nonprofit Solider Strong donated the exoskeleton to the center.

 

2. Ekso Bionics developed the exoskeleton, designed to help patients who suffer from brain or spinal cord injuries, walk.

 

3. The device is a wearable robotic suit equipped with smart software.

 

4. With the device, the center will advance its research of more treatment options for brain injuries.

 

5. VA medical centers have received nine other exoskeletons as donations.
