The Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation technology uses electrical stimulation to inhibit pain signals from reaching the brain. The Empi Active knee comes with predetermined electrode placement but includes a built-in specialized wrap to accommodate for individual patients’ knees.
The Empi Active Back preceded the knee technology, which also uses the company’s TENS waveform technology to target back pain.
