Dgimed’s Distalock nail and drill system allows orthopedic surgeons to quickly and accurately insert locking screws used to stabilize rod-like implants in patients suffering from long bone fractures. The company said the technology can lower costs by speeding surgeries and reducing or eliminating the need for X-rays, according to the report.

Dgimed had raised $550,000 as of Monday.
