Here are five things to know:
1. DePuy Synthes will be the key industry partner for the AO Technical Commission for trauma, musculoskeletal corrective surgery, spine, craniomaxillofacial, veterinary products and related instruments and implants.
2. The two organizations are collaborating on new innovation and certifying the DePuy Synthes products by AOTK for use in AO educational activities.
3. There are more than 200,000 healthcare professionals expected to participate in AO programs across the globe over the next five years.
4. The training will include direct hands-on courses, which have already been provided to more than 450,000 surgeons and 150,000 operating room professionals. These trainings have reached professionals from more than 124 countries.
5. For the past half-century, the two organization shave worked on developing new innovations to improve patient outcomes and increase care efficiency
“Bringing together the unique perspectives of DePuy Synthes Companies and the AO will help us accurately identify and effectively solve the most pressing clinical issues in musculoskeletal surgery and then teach clinicians to appropriately use those solutions,” said DePuy Synthes Companies International Markets’ Company Group Chairman Ciro Roemer.
