DePuy, Sectra collaborate to expand orthopedic trauma planning system — 3 things to know

Medical imaging and cybersecurity company Sectra is using 3D templates from DePuy Synthes to expand its preoperative orthopedic planning system for trauma cases, reports ITN Online.

Three things to know:

1. Sectra aims to use DePuy templating in combination with 3D CT images to improve surgical outcomes.

2. The preoperative planning system lets surgeons visualize fractures in a 3D environment.

3. Preoperative planning of the surgical reduction and treatment of fractures decreases the risk of surprises during surgery and reduces OR time.
