Carticept Medical Receives FDA 510(k) Clearance for Automated Pain Medication Delivery System

Carticept Medical, a medical device company focused on solutions for cartilage injuries and osteoarthritis, received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Navigator Delivery System, according to a company news release.

The Navigator DS is a computer controlled, drug delivery system designed to automate preparation and delivery of pain reliving medications for joint pain. Physicians can prescribe injections, including standard multi-dose anesthetic and steroid drug vians, and the system will prepare them for the patient.

The Navigator DS also automates medical record keeping by recording the treatment data for the transfer to an electronic record management system.
